Artist Statement
Communication. Cosmopolitan. Circle. Color. Circuits. Concept. Challenge. (al)Chemy.
Design is endless. Design is a quest for concepts. Its aim is to ease people's way in life when nobody is ever satisfied with his or her life. Design is revolutionizing the world we line in. Design is evolving, as we are evolving.
As soon as the sun is up, poetic words, lines and shapes are combined in my head. Art is freedom. No more restrictions in this world where I feel constrained and stuck. I see the world in a naive and innocent way which helps me conceptualizing our everyday life, and I find poetic meaning in it. Combining intuition and the study of communication through codes, signs and logos is the key of my process. Conceptual approaches lead my works to a collision of associations and meanings. I try to influence people's perception in my artwork by following the principles of semiotics, but I always leave a part for personal interpretation by including abstraction and poesy in the works. Language becomes image. Conveying a condensed and precise message is possible when I use « pure » shapes.
I’m convinced words are not enough to communicate, and I’m looking for a language that would be image based. Questioning semiotic and the appearance of an image in the context of contemporary visual culture is the basis of my work. I often refer to user interface graphics that have been created so far, as it is a universal and wordless image language. Add material to it. Transform graphic artwork into physical pieces. Please the eye. And touch. Feel.
Delivering good vibes and spreading positivity is one of the aims of my art. I learn from others and I create for others, which in turns gives me pleasure and satisfaction. I like to involve the viewers in different ways: sometimes physically, sometimes intellectually. People are the reason why I make artworks.
